Cow Drinking in the Stream - JWebb
This watercolor is huge and graced Mom & Dad's living room wall for years. It now hangs above the mantle in my living room. It gives me great peace and fills me with love. The composition, colors, mood, flow... everything is PERFECT! (except for the decades of smoke influence)
Fall Afternoon - JWebb
Mom painted mostly in oil. This fall picture was one of her first experiments in water color.
Covered Bridge - JWebb
This piece is one of my favorites. I love her choice of color. The composition draws your eyes to the bridge.
Winter Berries - JWebb
Mom showed me techniques with a razor blade to enhance water color.
Dark Sails - JWebb
Mom was a hoot! I was enamored with the sea. The men in our family enlisted in the Navy as far back as the Revolutionary War. Mom painted this watercolor. I love the men in the rigging.
Grapes, Wine, & Cheese - JWebb
This oil painting is my favorite of Mom's kitchen wall art collection. Beautiful colors and composition ... of course, I'm biased.
Tea Kettle Centerpiece - JWebb
Oil painting of fruit, wine, and a tea kettle. Mom displayed three of her kitchen artwork for decades.
Water Bucket - JWebb
Love the brass water bucket. You don't see these around much anymore. Lol.
Apple & Tangerine Centerpiece - JWebb
Oil painting of an apple & tangerine centerpiece.
Peaches in a Basket - JWebb
Another of Mom's oil fruit basket paintings displayed in our kitchen. The peaches look soft and fuzzy. Really nice.
Onions is a Basket - JWebb
Orange is my favorite color. I find this background stunning and appreciate Mom's highlight and shading techniques. Very old school. Sweet.
Onions in a Pot - JWebb
This oil painting is one of my favorites. I find that I also prefer to paint a composition with a dark background. Mom taught me to leave a little of the painting out as the person's mind looking at the painting will fill in the blanks. That way, every painting is personal to the viewer.
Girls on a Swing - JWebb
Dad would cut these swinging girls out for mom. Mom painted them and sold them at the market with my sister Jennifer. I saved two for my family after Mom passed. God Bless her.
